Changeable Traxx System

Marcos Pizza uses their fleet to solve signage problems and drive business!

The only shopping center off of my home exit contains multiple stores – a few have been there forever but most seem to come and go.  One of the main problems appears to be lack of visible signage to the thousands of cars that pass through each day.  Most of the stores sit back off the main road and are hardly noticed.  In fact, we even forget half of them are there.  When I started to see signs that a Marcos Pizza location was opening up there, it shouldn’t surprise you I had my doubts it would succeed.  Man, did they prove me wrong.  How did they do it?  SIMPLE…they used a 12ft box truck and the Advertising Trucks Traxx billboard system.  Their graphic skins clearly announced the grand opening and a special offer of a $8.99 large pizza.  The truck was parked at the end of the parking lot where it was in our face whether you were coming or going.  You simply couldn’t miss it.  Any business would gladly pay thousands of dollars monthly for this type of billboard exposure.  Marcos Pizza was able to get it rent FREE.  They only had to invest in the system and the graphic skins.  On top of this, they were the only billboard in this area.  Talk about valuable advertising space!

Being a lover of advertising, I was very curious to see the effect Marcos Pizza’s rent FREE billboard would have in my house.  It immediately had me wanting to order the special for dinner.  But it’s my job to notice this type of thing so I’m not the best sample.  However, my wife is the perfect test subject.  Would their truck billboard impact her?  It wasn’t more than two days later when we were debating what to eat for dinner and, unprompted, she mentioned the Marcos Pizza grand opening and giving the $8.99 large pizza special a try.  I asked her how she heard of that and she mentioned driving past the advertising truck everyday, multiple times on her way in and out.  AHHHHHHHHH…the power of advertising.  It was music to my ears.  And to think it’s rent FREE space!
